Smile How to point Postfix to Nagios

Hello

I am quite new to setting up Nagios which I have done quite easily, I have only one concern I am not able to setup email Notification from Postfix. I am able to send and receive mails from Postfix internally, I just need to know how to setup Postfix i.e point the server to get NAgios Notification.

Kindly help me in this regard.

Thanks,
Mili

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

I don't understand your question completely. Do you have Postfix and Nagios installed on the same server and are you having trouble configuring Nagios to send notifications using Postfix? Or do you have Postfix and Nagios on different servers and want to know how to send from Nagios to the Postfix server? You cannot tell Postfix to 'get' mail since it's a transfer agent, accepts connections from outside and transfers the mail to a destination.

Kind regards,

Eric

Good luck w/ your problem. If you find a solution on your own, we'd appreciate it if you would post it here. TIA.

for that you need to have command in nrpe.cfg
and you can develop that command through normal perl or c programing language
just checking for port 2505 (postfix port) and you can have your mail notification regarding postfix.
