how to play audio/video files in Fedora?

I am facing problem in playing audio/video files -- something like no codecs installed etc. Please advise me.

You need to add rpmfusion to your yum repository. http://rpmfusion.org/ (the instructions how to do it are on that page)
It contains all those proprietary codecs that fedora don't include.

Actually, I'm not sure that rpmforge does have everything anymore (at least for Fedora 11). I was playing around trying to install libdvdcss last night, and couldn't see it there.

OP, you should be able to go to http://download.videolan.org/pub/libdvdcss/1.2.9/rpm/ and double click on the second and third rpms (called libdvdcss2 and libdvdcss2-devel) to at least enable dvd decryption.

Not sure if that will solve all your issues.

I'd also suggest you install vlc (use yum install vlc).

My Dear Friend again I am telling to you that there is a method to install vlc player in Fedora(not only in Fedora)..I clearly mentioned videolan site.Just once go through that site..there you will get everything for vlc.you need to do is very simple...go to site..then go to download option..then there you will find several options for different Operating system..among those you have to follow Installation Instructions for Fedora(which ever you are using-Distribution)..thats it...Done

Actually, I was talking about rpmfusion not rpmforge, but still I haven't play with it yet, so can't verify it.

I have now followed the link and downloaded rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm and then I executed these commands in terminal. Here is the result:
I am using fedora9. So what is wrong?

The version of rpmfusion you downloaded is for Fedora 10. As I can see on their website they removed the package for F9. I'd recommend installing Fedora 11. Also Fedora 9 might have stopped receiving updates from Fedora.

If it hasn't, it will stop in the next few days.

By the way, Fedora has stopped receiving/or will stop updates from Fedora for only VLC or all other updates?
Because I have noticed error during updates as well.

Everything - it supports each release for about 13 months (two releases plus about a month)
