Question How to Patch the Redhat servers (RHEL 6)

Any one can please tell me the complete patching process from scratch on RHEL6 servers when we have a new commission servers in production And second thing is that how to patch when we have already 100 servers or More than 100 RHEL6 servers in production.

I have worked only on centOS-6 servers, So I don't have any idea how to perform patching activity on RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 Servers. When ever I go for any interview the first question interviewer ask me that explain the complete process of patching on Redhat Enterprises Linux servers.

If any buddy answer my question for them thanks in advance.

See here: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258

But it might be a good idea to setup a mirror patch server in your complete system.

If you don't know the answer, you aren't qualified for the job. Sorry to sound harsh, but if you don't know these things, getting someone else to tell you the answer (when you COULD have looked it up yourself), isn't a good thing. Also, the interviewer could NOT ask that question, and can accept any answer they want, whether its textbook-correct or not.

Look up RHEL satellite.

Thanks Keruskerfuerst for your shared link and TB0ne thanks for your suggestion.

Here I want to share something to you that Many time I have gone through online notes for patching process of Redhat server, but problem is that going through online notes & working on production is different things. When some one ask you the process of patching that means based on real scenario not on notes based. So My reason to ask the process of patching based on production level, I want to know what exactly process is being followed while patching online production serves, If some one has experience on live production server patching for RedHat.

for redhat it is rather easy
use the redhat satellite service and yum with TESTING on a testing box ,then push them out to the rest

and let yum auto update

Yes, that would be the notes on the Red Hat website. If you don't want to read them or look them up, then we aren't going to type them in for you.

Again, if you don't know the answer(s) to the interview questions, then you aren't qualified for the job. What do you think is going to happen if you just parrot back answers in the interview and GET the job?? You do realize that they will then expect you to KNOW what you said you did..and DON'T. Are you going to come back and post each thing you have to do every day?
