Have you got an ISO file? If you have an ISO, it will be about the size of a CD. If this is a small file, all you have is the file to get the ISO.
If you have the ISO file, run a md5sum check on the file to verify it is a good file. After you know it is good, go here -->http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answers/LQ_ISO for instructions on ways to burn the ISO to a CD. If you have the small file, you will need to download the ISO file. Torrent files are small. |
...about small ".torrent" files
...and if you only have the small file which has the ".torrent" extension then for downloading its contents you use a "Bittorrent client". (If you have a recent version of the Opera browser you can use that too.) To find out what's a suitable Bittorrent client to try you can search LQ for threads about bittorrent. To install a client, and if you still run Ubuntu like you posted in your other thread, then you can use any of your menu selections ("Add/Remove", "Update Manager"), package manager (Synaptic) or commandline tools (apt-get, aptitude) to search for the term "torrent" or "bittorrent". Note depending on your available bandwidth, the bandwidth and amount of peers downloading torrents might take a while, but you can stop and resume at any time provided the torrent still has peers.

As I recall it, I downloaded a .torrent file, right-clicked on it, and it told me I needed a client and gave me a list of them to choose from. I selected "bittorrent", and down everything came. ... Not rocket science.
