How to obtain Source Code

I was wondering where to acquire some code for stuff like Firefox,OpenOffice?
I know where to get the Kernel code but some of the standard
apps still elude me

Help me my brothers(and Sisters)

Welcome to LQ!

Okay, the most common way is to use the version control system (CVS, SVN, BZR, etc.) to get the code and all the updates automatically. However, most projects also release it in .tar.gz or .tar.bz2. Just hunt around their site.

I hope I helped some here.

In Fedora you just enable the src repo and get the src.rpm.
