How to navigate "UP" in the terminal???

OK, I guess this is a very simple question for the gurus here :).
The thing is that when I use the terminal and initiate a command with lots of lines generated...then I can't go back using the "UP" arrow...I see only the end of the command output...but not the beginning and so on ).

Thanks allot!

Shift+PgUp --- to go up
Shift+PgDn --- to go down

Use shift+up to scroll through the terminal history. The up arrow alone should scroll through the command history.

Also worth noting that if data is still actively scrolling down the screen, one must activate SCROLL LOCK first, before paging up & down the console.

If you have alot of commands stored in history, and its been awhile and the command you are looking for would be closer to the beginning. You can do a reverse search with a ctrl-r shortcut.
