Exclamation How to mount software or hardware RAID

Hey guys,

I have 3 harddrives - 120GB where I installed system and 2 x 500GB where I'm planning to place my data. I did created a hardware Mirrored array RAID1 with these 2 drives. Now they are presented to the system as one 500GB drive.

Question#1: How do I mount this drive? I was using the Disk Utility, but cannot see the option there.

...and would be better to use software array instead?

So, I decided to try the software RAID. Created RAID1 Mirror, works perfect. Mounted as device /dev/md0. I added this to /etc/fstab to mount on the boot and... after boot I don't see it, guess what - device named as /dev/md127p1 now... WTF! And every time when I unmount/mount the array it gets different device name...

Question #2: How I can keep this name stable???

Thanks!

Try the blkid cmd http://linux.die.net/man/8/blkid and mount using the UUID instead.

Thank you, Chris!

Used blkid to get UUID and updated fstab file. Didn't work at the first time because I was missing /media/data mounting directory. Worked perfect after creating it.

Thanks!
