How to mask Tomcat port on redirection to Apache

Hello! I have redirected my Apache to Tomcat using following method :

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName servername.com
ServerAlias www.servername.com
Redirect permanent / http://servername.com:8080/webapp/
</VirtualHost>

When i type the url servername.com and enter ,it takes me to servername.com:8080/webapp.

I dont want 8080 port to be displayed ,if i type servername.com it should take me to servername.com/webapp.

Thanks in advance....

configure apache as a proxy for tomcat instead of redirecting.

At first i tried to use Apache as proxy for tomcat ,but i was getting errors,i tried to solve them for sometime but couldn't so i finally i went for redirection.It would be great if you could post an example for configuring Apache proxy for tomcat.
Thank you for your response.

I figured it out.i set the selinux in permissive mode (previously disabled) and the same context i was using earlier (mod_proxy_http) is now working both from local network and also internet.
