How to make Ubuntu latest edition USB boot key?
Friends, I am the newest of newbies, rawest of recruits when I comes to Linux, so pardon me for asking a question that must come up constantly. I've done keyword searches and related questions pop up, but not the most fundamental of all, namely -- How do I create a USB boot drive that will pop me into the latest edition of Ubuntu?
Please guide me to a VERY specific guide, because I have looked all over Robin Hood's barn and back, and have found all manner of questions from people who can't get a USB boot key to work -- but nowhere have I found a simple, step-by-step guide for creating one in the first place. If I'm at the wrong forum, please guide me the right one.
Once I create this simple tool, I will doubtless be back with more intelligent questions. THANK YOU in advance for your help.
Best, Arthur

Go to ubuntu.com - click "Get Ubuntu".
Then you get some obvious options. One of which is "Try it from CD or USB stick". If you pick that one, it'll walk you through it - even gives directions (via radio buttons) for either Linux or Windoze or Mac (use the "show me")

Sure sounds simple enough! Exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find on Google. BIG THANKS for responding so promptly taking the time to help, Arthur

Start at pendrivelinux.com for many examples on how to use usb's also.
Actually from the live cd if not installed you can still usually download any tool you need like liveusbcreator or other.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LiveUsbPendrivePersistent
I don't know why that wki is so long. I thought you could just boot to the cd and Live USB creator (GUI-based, runs from Live CD)
