How to make sure a Slackware system is up to date?

I've got a Slackware 10 box that has collected a bit of dust. I'd like to make sure that all CORE parts of the OS are up to date (in case any security holes were discovered in the time I've not been using the machine). Regular programs I don't care if they're out of date, I can upgrade those myself manually.

I tried "swaret --install -p" but it said no patches were available. Is there some other way to make sure there are no known security holes or majorly (dangerously) outdated core parts of the OS hanging around?

Have a look at the packages page at the bottom. Hope that will answer your question.

good luck.

I'm not so sure this was what I'm looking for. It looks like with PB, you have to know what you're looking for (e.g. I need to update glib).

I am looking for a program that I can run on my Slackware box that will patch it up to today's standards. (stable stuff only, though)

Which link? Yeah, packages... that's cool, I can see a list of packages, but like I said above.. I don't know what's out of date on my machine. I am looking for a tool that will tell me this and auto update whatever needs to be updated. System stuff only.. crucial stuff that might have security holes in it, etc.

With the link I'm talking specifically about patches not packages. I don't think there would be a patch for an app or package unless it is correcting some problem be it security or some other flaw.

Other than that and what you've already tried with swaret, I'm unaware of any kind of automagic update for slack. You might scour sourceforge or freshmeat for such a tool. Sorry to be no more help.
good luck.
