how to make Redhat7.3 a bootable disk
I have downloaded Redhat 7.3 from valhalla to 3 cd's, but I can't install this OS because my machine doesn't recognize it as a "bootable disk". My hd is formatted with random characters. It is a former windows machine. It boots from cd windows OS, but not Linux- "non-system disk installed- remove and press any key to continue." What is the trick to getting Redhat to install on this machine? Windows leaves nothing for your mind to play with- I need stimulus, so I don't halucinate(mind creates it's own stimulation if none is provided). A mind is a terrible thing to waste. -Jeffy.

Do you have any unformatted space on your HD, 'cause that's only when you'll be able to load RH. It doesn't matter whether it's in Extended DOS, or some other primary partition. You could use partition magic sort of s/w for that.
Or again, if you have boot floppy of windows , boot from that and format you HD completely. That might solve the problem The MBR might be causing problems. Best of luck. |
Remove floppy from drive
Reboot Burn the iso's with Nero> File> Burn Image Toast the ECDC crap in the trash |
