How to make Fedora 2 install boot floppy
I've searched the forums without success trying to get an answer to this. I want to install Fedora 2 on an older PC that does not have a built-in CDROM and which cannot boot from the USB CD I have hooked up to it. I've done many successful Linux installations on such a box using rawrite to create boot floppies and then selecting Local CDROM to access the USB CD. I did Fedora 1 this way and all other x86 UNIX installs I've done support this exact method without problem. But the Fedora 2 Disc 1 does not have a /dosutils directory and the only boot image I can find is /images/diskboot.img. Although I can create a boot floppy using rawwritewin using this image, such a floppy produces the simple error message "Boot failed" when the system reads the floppy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
