how to make extended partition with CFDISK?
 
I tried making a extended partition with cfdisk, but it wouldn't let me
make anymore partitions after making the extended??
I chose 85 Linux extended right?

I would use gparted, but wanted to know why cfdisk can't/can do it?

No.
You don't - cfdisk is smart enough to allocate (and extend) the extended as necessary. Just allocate logicals as needed.
