There is no need for installation of any software. I have used BSNL Type 1 & 3 on opensuse 11. There should not be any issues too with suse 10.0
(a) First set the ip address as 192.168.1.2 default gateway as 192.168.1.1
(b)now try to connect using kinternet(you need to configure kinternet with your bsnl username and password just like the new connection wizard in windows xp)
