how to make broadband (bsnl) connection on Suse linux?

i have recently installed suse linux 10.0
please guide thru the steps that are required to establish the broadband connection on it.

its modem..
do we need to install it for broad band or it gets detected automayically?

Hi Sakshi
There is no need for installation of any software. I have used BSNL Type 1 & 3 on opensuse 11. There should not be any issues too with suse 10.0
(a) First set the ip address as 192.168.1.2 default gateway as 192.168.1.1
(b)now try to connect using kinternet(you need to configure kinternet with your bsnl username and password just like the new connection wizard in windows xp)

Hi..
1. I activate the dsl connection from the icon.
2. click on the kinternet and a plug like symbol gt displayed on panel.
3. opened the mozila but the web page was unable to open.
error msg was. "www.novell.com could not be found. Please check and try again."

Just right click on ur network icon on status bar , smething like two computer icon , just paste the connection settings here, let us check
