Question how to make a xp install without problems?

i have a 4 partition hd:
#1 ntfs- problematic windows.xp that will be formatted for a new install!!!
#2 fat32 - mandrake installations files
#3 mandrake linux
#4 swap

i'm going to format my win.xp partition to make a fresh and clean xp install without any errors at all.
Recently, i tryed to make it and i almost break everything here...
when xp instalation booted the system to complete the instalation Lilo could not load anymore..and a message that "no os" or "no system"
So, what should i do this time to make a new xp install, without ruin with the mbr

Well, WinXP will automatically overwrite the MBR with its boot agent, you'll have to insert a recovery or boot disk to get back into Linux and rerun lilo ie # lilo -C /etc/lilo.conf

Easy way:

1. Reinstall WinXP
2. Insert Mandrake CD/DVD, go to rescue mode, select reinstall bootloader
