Question how to make a linux machine in Standby mode


hello friends,
I am not interested to switch of my machine when I am not on the desk. is there any command for the same.
i used to do 'init 0' for halting....
if it is in standby mode how will we bring it back

Red face oops no man page entry

i dont have man page entry for that... nor the command
so what will i do now

Hello.
The man page for apmsleep can be found here: http://www.linuxcommand.org/man_pages/apmsleep1.html
In the same time there is no apmsleep package in debian repositories. You will need the apmd package. It will be in the repos (I just checked it). apmsleep is included into package apmd. After installing apmd, the apmsleep man page will be available on your computer.
