I use lxappearance, much better than gtk-chgtheme, etc
in all my builds I have as Dugan says a gtkrc-2.0 symlink and .gtkrc-2.0
except I link .gtkrc.2.0 to my gtkrc-2.0 in /home and /root
so I can point GDM, etc to the visible gtkrc-2.0
ln -sf .gtkrc-2.0 gtkrc-2.0
my .gtkrc-2.0 says
# DO NOT EDIT! This file will be overwritten by LXAppearance.
# Any customization should be done in ~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine
gtk-font-name="Sans Bold 10"
and there you see lxappearance can change it
no need for script, etc
also you see there include "/home/guest/.gtkrc-2.0.mine"
thats for customizing further I guess so that lxappearance won't overwrite .gtkrc-2.0.mine?
theres probably a way to change cursor there too...?
I haven't tried as yet...
usually I keep a symlink in
that points to cursor theme I want; mine says
Inherits = crystalblue
crystalblue being the blue cursor from crystalcursors via SlackBuilds
as I'm in Slackware right now...
does any of that help?
