How to limit memory for users/groups?

I use SuSE 9 on a sun ray v20z. I wanna give 1Gb(I have 4 Gb) for a group of 20-25 users. They run vmware and every user use 32Mb. They are running the vmware in rdesktop windows 2003 terminal. Sometimes said me "You don have enough memory for this application".The vmware and the image are bot in windows 2003(It has 4Gb too and no other application running) Do U think the problem is with the suse or with the windows. Thanks

See the file /etc/security/limits.conf for imposing resource limits in Linux.
