How big the directory include the files and subdirectories within it is?

Now, when I right-click a directory, and select property, I only can see how big the directory is, while can't know how big the directory include the files and subdirectories within it is.
Thank you.

from a console though, just run the "du" command on that directory

To get more specific information on directory sizes etc

Open a shell - su to root user - then type

du -h path_to_directory
