Angry how to know my linux's SNMP managable router's DNS name or IP?

I am trying to configure the MRTG by writing a script using cfgmaker, at the end of the scirpt, I need to specify the router's DNS, the line is like: community@router.abc.xyz
where community be set a "public", and "router.abc.xyz"should a router's DNS or IP, but how do I know that?

Thanks everybody for any help

If you are trying to monitor the same machine that mrtg is running on, you can use 127.0.0.1. Otherwise you need to know the IP address of your router. You can try using the IP address of your default gateway.
