How to know if network card is installed?

I've just installed Slackware 12.0 on my computer. The pc als has winxp installed on a different partition.

All looks good, but the leds of my wireless networkcard don't light up.
I've tried several tutorials on the web about installing my card.

The card is a Linksys WMP54GS and should connect to my linksys router (which is WPA protected!).
I just don't know how...

I also have completed the tutorial on this forum with ndiswrapper:http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...NDISWRAPPER_11

How do I know if I've installed the driver?
If you know about this, can you give me some commands to know what the problem is, things I have done and things I haven't done.

I'm not interested in other tutorials about installing a networkcard.

If you used ndiswrapper, you should see it in the list when you run "lsmod".

You can see if you have a wireless network interface by running "iwconfig".

You can see if ndiswrapper was able to communicate with your device by looking at the output of "dmesg" and looking in "/var/log/messages".

Hi,

To the OP!

I would look at 'Configuring your network in Slackware' by Alien_Bob. Another excellent article that will help you to get your network functional.

If you followed the 'LQ ndiswrapper' and for the 'ndiswrapper -l' you got the information for your interface then the device should be available once you finish the instructions.

I would disable the WPA until you get everything up and running.

These links and others are available from 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!
