how to install yum in ubuntu 11?
 
i tried installing yum using sudo apt-get install yum, but it shows unable to locate package yum

Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Why would you install yum on Ubuntu, taking into account that it's a Debian based distro? Yum is an advanced front end for RPM, primarily used on RPM based distros like Red Hat, Fedora, CentOS, ... Debian based systems have their own front ends like aptitude, synaptics, ...
