How to install YDL on PowerMac G4

My first post. Don't know if this the correct forum.

Have a PowerMac G4 with 500MHz processor and 1.5Gb ram.
Do not have the original mac install disk.
After downloading and burning the YDL iso, I tried installing it, (by booting up with the disk inthe drive) even holding down the 'c' button to no avail.
Any thoughts as to where I'm going wrong?

well the possibilities are as follows

the c key

command(apple)-option-shift-delete

or invoke open firmware (Command (cloverleaf/Apple)+Option+o+f)

and enter at the prompt

Code:
0 > boot cd:,\install\yaboot
information found here (yes it's related to debian but the process should be essentially the same)

good luck oh and welcome to LQ, my first distribution was yellowdog, many, many, many years ago, before macs supported directly booting to Linux, it required a mac-os based boot-loader program, it was to say the least, a pain.
again, best of luck.
