Talking how to install xine in linux mint


I use Linux Mint v 4.0 which does not have xine player can anyone tell me how to do this whitout having to compile anything as I am new to Linux

Synaptic

You need an internet connection. Then go to your menu and open the synaptic package manager. Search for xine. Then install xine. When you do the search, there will be a few other GUI applications that use xine depending if you are using the Gnome or KDE Mint. You may like those front ends better than xine.
