How to install stuff

I am kinda new to linux (tried Ubuntu). But went back to windows JUST because I couldn't figure how to install programs. My current distro is fedora 12 (Constantine). My immdediate concern is how to install some missing plugins more specifically Flash player for firefox.

Thank You
M.S.

Linux is very different from Windows :
You do not download software for Linux. ( Usually not.)
The 'Package Manager', "Install Software" is used for installs.
( Default : 16,000 entries.)
It's like a catalog, where you just click, what you want,
and it gets installed.

Flash : Make a new entry to your catalog :
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ >
> Select version to download...
> > YUM for Linux
.. and download the 4 kB file = adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
Next : 1) su , 2) rpm -Uvh adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm

Now the flash-plugin can be selected in "Install Software"
or installed with the command # yum install flash-plugin
..
