Question how to install SNORT on RH 7.2??


All... i am interested in installing snort on RH 7.2.. does anyone have a list of needs with this package?? and a how to ?? and a 'watch out for'??

Naw, it's all in the readme on the website, the only thing you'll want to be sure of on RHL is a matching libpcap version.

Question libpcap

how can i find both files?? where do i look to find versioning??

also.. i read the readme that i downloaded.. what is the best way to run an install with RHL.?? i have opened the tar and i didnt see a install file that actually runs an install.. do i have to make an rpm for this?? how..

also .. the readme for 1.8.4 tells me how to run it not anything on installing it...

you know what.. to lessen the confusion .. i think that i understand the install.. how can i find the libpcap versions...?? i will start there.. .
