How to install S3 Video card Drivers

I just downloaded the newest drivers for my card...

It's on my HP Pavilion N5270 Laptop.

In the package there are 2 files:

s3switch
savage_drv.o

There are no readme files, so my question is:

How do I install them...
What commands should I use...

Thank you,
Roman

please forgive if i'm wrong but the driver savage_drv.o
goes in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers
it might be different if you are using xorg cause that path is my XFree86 path
the other binary is some kind of a utility so put it anywhere on your PATH
echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin or /usr/bin would be the most common places

next would be to configure your x server to use your new module
first put the name of the module "savage"
under section in the xconfig file whatever it's called for you -- here it's /etc/X11/XF86Config
Section "Device"
Driver "savage"

there are other options you can use
perhaps this page from the original author will help a little

I found where the drivers go to...

I do not have any of these commands...
xcongif
XF86Config
/etc/X11/XF86Config

I'm running the Beta version from the RedHat FTP
RedHat Enterprice Linux 4 Beta 2 WS
