How to install RPM Manager?

HI all,

I'm a total newbie trying to post the 2nd thread here.

Would appreciate if any experts could let me know how to i install the RPM Manager? i do not even know how to type the commands in. (similarly to dos command in windows)

ALso how do i recognize the file extensions to see which files are the executable files?

Thanks very much.

Hi i apologize that i did not make it clear.

I'm using RHEL Update 4. I just couldn't figure out a way on how to execute or install the RPM Manager after downloading the .gz and extracting it.

Thanks again

Red Hat will already have the rpm program installed. If you want to know how to use it, type "man rpm" (no quotes) for the manual page. Press q when you are done reading.
