How to install portable apps?

I use a lot of applications from portableapps.com, they are all GNU open source and supposed to work on Linux.

How do I install the .exe? When clicking on it an unzipping program called Caja 1.2.1 or Grammara tries to open it as if it was a zipped file !

Ok I'm now reading some information on how to install on Linux, I guess I'll need Wine for some of it.

Cheers!

portableapps offer applications for windows. Do you really need them on linux, or you prefer native linux versions?

You will not need WINE for anything from GNU, seeing as how GNU/Linux is the native system they are meant to run on. What application are you looking for that you can't find for Linux?

I think he means that they are licensed under the GNU GPL license... Not that they "come from" GNU...
