how to install ns2 in fedora-5?
 

hello all

i am trying to install ns2 on fedora-5
i downloaded the ns-2.31 tar file and tried installing from allinone..but not succesful ..
i also tried by downloading the packages separately..but not knowing the exact procedure for installation...
iam a beginner in linux..
can sumone give me the step by step procedure that i should follow to install ns2 form allinone on fedora-5?
its top urgent as i need to show the simualtions for my project
please help!!!

i tried one of the procedures given for installation in fedora 8...
when i gave yum install autoconf
it says its downloading primary.xml.gz.....
[Errno 4] IOError: [Errno ftp error] timed out
Trying other mirror.....

but nothing happens....
i tried ./configure inside the allinone directory but error message appears saying :bashrc:/permission denied

please sumone help!!!!!!

will it really take so much tym for these commands to get executed??..im totally new to linux...please help!!
