How to install linux on pc without cdrom and floppy drive?
There are network and usb ports.
Thinking of booting from usb thumb drive then do network installation? But how do I prepare the thumb drive for booting? Secondly, I found that theres also an option to boot from network on my PC. How do I boot from network? Thanks a million. |

My PC is in a LAN with internet access. I have a samba server. |
FC2 has a boot.img for USB drives. You can use the dd comand to write the image.
You can boot install linux via PXE assuming your network card has this option. http://www.kegel.com/linux/pxe.html |
Remove the harddrive put it into another PC with a CD drive. Do a base install of linux and then put it back into the original pc and install the rest over the net.
Note: This might be a little more difficult if the PC in question is a laptop. |
