How to install LDAP Server

I want to configure a LDAP Server for my network. How shall i proceed for it?
I mean what all are the pre-requistes that I shall study first? and how shall i instal a LDAP server ?

Thumbs up Use OpenLDAP.
It has got a lot of documentation in it.

If you are trying to install LDAP server for centralized user authentication, use fedora Directory server. I am familiar with that one, I think other distros will also have some directory servers. You can use this fedora directory server with other *nix/NT systems also.
