how to install gtalk in ubuntu .should i do this with pidgin or any other way.

Yes, pidgin would be one of the clients you can use.

Unfortunately, Google Gtalk doesn't support Linux.

I notice you're using Ubuntu; if you want to install Pidgin in Ubuntu then execute the following:

You could also want to try empathy. It is one of the better msg clients on Linux. And if you are using Lucid Lynx, it should already be your default messaging client.
