FIRST
what is it you want to install?
also a .exe file is a Microsoft windows program .If we knew what it is you want to install then we can point you to the linux version of it ( if it exists )

PC Linux OS is most probably based on Fedora. There is a good chance that wine is available in the repositories of the package manager for your distribution.

Welcome to LQ.

PCLinuxOS is based on Mandrake / Mandriva,
but uses "apt for rpm" + Synaptic for package management.

# apt-get install wine
will do ( or use Synaptic ).

Remark : Some, not all, windows app's will work with wine.

How can install .exe applications on Linux

There are many ways to install wine on your Linux OS, However very easy way is installing with "Add/Remove programs".

# Firstly connect to the Internet
# Then goto "Add/Remove programs" and search for wine
You can see a result like "Wine Microsoft competibility layer"(in ubuntu9.04) or something else.
# Then install it on your system.

__How execute .exe files with wine
Right click on your .exe file and open it with Wine software. Then you can continue with installing steps of the .exe file as on Microsoft platforms.

you can get more details with related screen shots with the site Solutionz

PCLinuxOS has it's own site
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/

and has a "Wine" download available from synaptic.
You will probably find it easier to follow the route PClos -Wine-Windows to get the exe installed, provided it is actually supported in Wine.
