help me!
dear friends:
how to install .exe file in Ubuntu
Example:IDM,English-Urdu Dictionary.zip,idman619build2.exe
The best place to start before posting a question is the LQ Search function above. This question has been asked and answered many, MANY times in the past.
EXE files are for Windows...they *MIGHT* run on Wine, and might not. And even if you get them to install, they may not work correctly, if at all. The best thing to do is to think about what you really are asking. Instead of trying to force something to work on a platform that it wasn't designed to work on, why not look for software that runs on Linux and does the same things???
IDM has MANY equivalents for Linux, like XDM, and there are also many Firefox plugins for doing download management. There are numerous free dictionary files for Urdu for Linux, from what I can see.

Please pay attention to what's been posted.
You need to install the LINUX VERSIONS of the software, not Windows. Wine will NOT WORK for all programs, period. Running the native versions of things is always the better idea. There are versions of Flash for Linux, IDM replacements, etc. There should be VERY LITTLE NEED to install Windows programs.
I agree that you should either find a linux installer for the software you are trying to use or find an alternative software that is written for linux. There are plenty of software that runs native on linux that will do the same thing as windows software and the linux version are usually free
Adobepatchinstaller.exe won't do anything for you even if you can run it in wine. It's for patching Adobe software for Windows, not for Linux. It will only work on a machine running native Windows. Adobe should provide the patches for Linux, if they exist, in native Linux binaries.
