(for a torrent, not sure about 'tornado') Get BitTorrent, and run it on the *.torrent file. It will download the file you want, which you will then use to install.

Tornado is the new name for Shadow's client. I couldn't get the libs I needed to make them run, so I have been using btdownloadcurses.py until yesterday, when I downloaded the tar.gz of Azarius. Nice client for anyone who has java installed (works smooth as skippy for the j2se1.5 beta)

BitTornado is written in python, hence the .py endings on the scripts if you open the .tar.gz and look thru it. You have to run the setup.py to install it, then for the GUI to work properly you need wxPython, and wxGTK. wxGTK comes in the wxPython source. ---> http://www.wxpython.org/ This goes the same for the original bittorrent client which is also written in python. Azureus would be the simpler alternative since it's written in Java: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

Now had you been running Slackware you could just get the Slackware packages from me, plus I even have QTorrent. :-) Well maybe someone has made a RPM for it.

what exactly does setup.py do... i didnt see any mention of it in the documentation... can't you just associate application/x-bittorrent with btdownloadgui.py? is the setup better? oh, and also... heh... how would one run the setup? i have no knowledge of python... err... heh...

i'm having the same problems. i ran setup but it gave "no commands supplied". what commands do i have to enter?

Can't you get it off contrib? If you've setup you urpmi sources then you should be able to type "urpmi bittorrent"
