how to install apollon??
i want to install apollon, however i have a few questions before starting the process
im running redhat 9, i have read several threads regarding apollon but have yet to find one that clearly explains step by step how to install apollon. im a newbie and learning, so bare with me i went to apollon's site and they have all in one package that im thinking about downloading here are my questions should i create a directory to download apollon ? or can i place i on my home directory? most threads i read mentioned installing an gft file first(forgive me if mispelled it), if thats the case where do i get that file? i would like a step by step as far as which files to get, which ones to install first, where to place them, what comands to run, etc thanks in advance |
i downloaded the ta.gz file and was able to install it without getting any errors. what do i do next? i dont know where it went. does anyone know how to lauch it? what do i do regarding the gfdt?

either u enter its name in the "run command" or u will find it added to ur menu
or if u want u can type : cd /usr/bin ./apollon |
thanks heema, tried what you said, but did not work
i know the tar.gz package in the hom/user directory, so i tried cd /home/user then ./apollon and i get this bash: ./apollon: No such file or directory any ideas?? |
yeah as it didnt install there
have u tried cd /usr/bin ./apollon and u can do : updatedb locate apollon BTW updatedb updates the slocate database so when u type locate <file> it shows u where it is instantly |
