how to install a theme


im too stupid for this

following:
i have downloaded a theme from here http://themes.freshmeat.net/browse/9...rby=&offset=20
than extracted it to a dir and now want to install it....

FC 2 => preferences=> theme => install theme => browse to the folder i extract earlier....and what now??
i have gtk; gtk2.0 and metacity-1 as subfolders and a "index theme" file.
where should i browse to install that theme. if i point "index theme" and try to install nothing happens...
help needed
