How To Install???
 

Is there a any place I can read a step by step instruction on installing apps on mandrake 9.2.

I downloaded XMMS from a website. The file that I have now is xmms-1.2.8.tar.gz

ok great, I got this far.... So now im looking to see what to do next. Im sure this question has come up a million times so there must be a template somewhere no?

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
