How to get the dual boot?

Greetings friends!

I was using the last version of Mandriva on one of my pc.Due to some careless error I installed windows xp on that same drive too. Now when the pc is turned on boots directly to windows xp. The partition for Mandriva are still there. I know there is a way to fix this and get a dual bot system, have been reading but I am a little lost. Any help of you with this or pointing me in the right direction will be appreciated (I know that I can reinstall Mandriva now that I have windows but that will be the easiest way and the longest by the way ...besides I want to learn a little more so I am here waiting for any help) Thank you

Try using "Search" as this has been addressed a few hundred times. Windows always over-writes the boot loader. You have to re-install the boot loader you were using. There are several ways to do this.

Basicly I don't have something new to add but maybe you can use a tool (you have to burn a cd with an image)

Super Grub Disk

which basicly does exactly this (among other things) allows you to restore whatever boot sector you want. I think is useful for any similar case.

Your advise was great! I downloaded the disk (after several problems) and the disk corrected the MBR in less than 3 seconds
