Question How to get Centos/Gnome working, just like in Ubuntu

Hi All, glad to be here on your Forum for the first time.
Just starting with Linux (CentOS 5.6) and love to see a GUI (Gnome ?) when I start it up. Shouldn't be that big of a deal, right?
Thanks for your time !

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Do you mean you have a CentOS server installed without desktop environment and now want to install what's needed to have a GUI? If so, then just run, as root:
Code:
yum groupinstall "X Window System" "GNOME Desktop Environment"
if your repositories are set up correctly and you have connection to the internet.

Looking forward to your participation in the forums. Have fun with Linux.

Kind regards,

Eric
