How to get a GUI

I just installed Mandrake-Linux 10.2-Limited-Edition-2005. I only have a command prompt.

My laptop is a KDS Valiant 6480i
20G HD
Touch Pad

During the install it stated that the Graphic card was not detected - if so how should this be detected and a driver installed. If not, then any ideas on what I did wrong?

Thanks all so much!

First you have to tell us which graphic card you have in your laptop.

You can use the command "lspci" to see what hardware you have. You need to run this command as root user. Look for "VGA compatible controller" in the output to see which graphics chip you have.

Hope this helps.
