How to format master LUKS partition w/o damaging other partition

I need to change my LUKS partition to NTFS as I do not need the boot partition any longer, but I need to keep sdb3 (truecrypted ext3) intact. This is how the disk looks now:

Code:

Disk /dev/sdb: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0001b495

  Device Boot      Start        End      Blocks  Id  System
/dev/sdb1  *          1      38882  312319633+  83  Linux
/dev/sdb2          38883      38913      249007+  5  Extended
/dev/sdb3          38914      121601  664191360  83  Linux
/dev/sdb5          38883      38913      248976  83  Linux

So sdb1 is LUKS encrypted, and I want to format it without damaging sdb3.

Thanks in advance!

Gparted, fdisk, or any other formating utility should allow you to select the partition you want to reformat, without affecting the other partitions.

Thanks for making clear that having a LUKS partition does not affect formatting :) Wanted to be safe rather than sorry!
