How to foramt 2TB external hard drive

I have a 2TB external hard drive and I deleted all the partitions for some reason.
Now I need to format this drive in NTFS type. I simply made one partition and used mkfs.ntfs but it's not working.

Code:
sudo fdisk -l
Disk /dev/sdb: 1.8 TiB, 2000398934016 bytes, 3907029168 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 33553920 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

sudo cfdisk /dev/sdb
(Then made a new partition)

sudo fdisk -l

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sdb1 65535 3907029167 3906963633 1.8T 83 Linux

Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.

sudo mkfs.ntfs /dev/sdb1 -L EXT_HDD

Cluster size has been automatically set to 4096 bytes.
Initializing device with zeroes: 0%
And it seems to take forever

When I use gparted instead, It says "The driver descriptor says the physical block size is 2048 bytes, but Linux says it is 512 bytes." and displays the disk's size as 7.28TiB and I can't format this too

This is something different from when I used to format small-sized usb stick.
Because It's 2TB, I think I should use GPT partition but I don't know how.

Code:
mkfs.ntfs /dev/sdb1 -L EXT_HDD
This command will take a lot of time, because it will fill entire the partition with zeros.

Use quick format instead:
Code:
mkfs.ntfs /dev/sdb1 -L EXT_HDD -Q
