How to find phone support to help get started quickly
 

I have been using [Unix] web hosting services for several years through a "desktop" interface. I will be moving sites to a dedicated server running Ubuntu - the new desktop allows me to do much of the work but I need to install some apps and other configuration where I would like to buy phone support to save time through the learning curve. Are there listings of this type of resource on this site? If not, can someone recommend other such sites? Thanks.

The only thing I see is canonicle and I also see problems that people have had in the western hemisphere due to canonicle's European business hours.

Have you considered an enterprise linux?

Surely your hosting company gives advice/support?

It's not quite the same thing, but you might consider attending your local LUG and seeing if you can get some quality face-to-face advice that way.

If you have a very large amount of work to do, it might be worth hiring a consultant to help with the migration.

frndrfoe, thanks for the Google link. I had tried Google first but either used a different search terms or was too tired to see the results. I had missed the Ubuntu support pricing on my first attempt. - Tom

Regarding the other responses: I don't want to hire out the whole job to a consultant. Much of the set up is done - just have many specific Ubuntu server questions. And I don't have the luxury of time to find a user groups and wait for the next meeting though I will see if I can find a user group and make email contacts. I am in between these two solutions: I have specific questions and the "time is money" mindset rules at the moment so I am willing to pay someone for fast and knowledgeable answers. I would prefer something other than a year contract with Ubuntu but may need to go that route.
