how to "exit to command prompt"


hi,
im really just starting with red hat 9, and im trying to exit the graphical display to install Xfree 4 but i dont know how to exit to "command prompt" so to speak.

please help :-)

just... quit x....

if you get a graphical login screen, run "init 3" as root, and then exit X.

not sure what you're doing but as you're using redhat 9, you will ALREADY be USING Xfree 4, that's the bit that you're asking to get out OF!

i didnt even know that :-) maybe you can help me with this - im trying to get rh8 to work with my radeon 8500 tv out (when i plug the tv-out it doesnt load at all ) and i dont know where to start, will the ati drivers fix that?
