As long as WINE does not fully emulate all windows dlls and system behavior it will remain unlikely that bearshare will work on WINE.

That link is about version 9 of bearshare, that's the one that didn't work, i downloaded & installed an older version

You have several options:
Dual boot linux and windows or run windows in a virtual machine,
and use bear share in windows.
Use a linux version like gtk-gnutella.
