how to end a process in kubuntu


Hey, I keep getting an error when i try to start adept which says it is currently running, but it isn't. This started happening after it crashed while trying to install new software (kde4, compiz). Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

What is the output of this?:

$ su
# killall -9 adept
