how can i encode Ñ and it's small letter in linux?

could u explain a little more pls. i might just be speaking for myself, but i don't think any1 knows exactly what u mean by 'encode Ñ'.

just a stab in the dark, but do you need that special character mapped?

Modify key 57 in your xmodmap file to look like this

keycode 57 = n N ntilde Ntilde

and run xmodmap. You'll then get ñ and Ñ with alt-n and alt-shift-N. man xmodmap for more info.

Or choose a keyboard map for a language that has it.
