How to download web pages from a website using wget command

How to download web pages from a website using wget command

I want to store on my system some webpages of, (The home page, jpeg files on the homepage and hyperlinks from homepage at a depth of 5 levels and view them offline.

I tried as following

[amit@localhost temp]$ wget -l
wget: reclevel: Invalid specification `'.
wget: missing URL
Usage: wget [OPTION]... [URL]...

Try `wget --help' for more options.
[amit@localhost temp]$

but it is not working.

You might want to look at FlashGot. It is a plug-in for Firefox. It is designed for downloading webpages, and saving them in a directory tree.

Good luck.

wget -r -l 5 ...
read the wget man pages:
-r is for recursive downloading
-l <some_level> is to limit the recursion to let's say 5 levels.

You may need other options too, like --no-parent.
